The name Kviratskhoveli breaks down into clear parts: kvira means Sunday in Georgian, the day named after the Resurrection of Christ. Such dedications occur across Georgia, from the Kakhetian wine villages to these Kartli hills.
Bredzi is an area in the surroundings of Satsikhuri village, and three churches carry the name in their titles. Kviratskhoveli is the westernmost, while the churches of St. George and St. Marine stand further east on the same ridge. All three can be seen in one walk, with a few hundred metres between the outermost churches.
The approach runs along a field road, the grass grows tall in spring, so wear closed shoes. There are no explanatory signs here. Dress soberly and treat the buildings with care.
