The St. George church stands in the Tavkavta area near Botisi village of Kaspi Municipality. The name joins tavi, meaning head or upper reaches, with Kavti: these are the upper reaches of the Kavti valley.
The area lies in the south of the municipality, in the hills above the valley. Downstream, by Kavtiskhevi and Tvaladi, stand the other St. George churches of the Kavti area.
Regular services may not be held, and the church can be approached at any time. Modest clothing is appropriate, and candles and offerings are left in their places.
