An Archangel church in Bershueti. In Georgian tradition the archangels are more often remembered together, Michael and Gabriel, and the feast in their honour is called Mtavarangelozoba; which of them this church is dedicated to is not specified.
Bershueti lies in Shida Kartli, north east of Gori, not far from the dividing line. The nearest neighbours in the area are the three churches of Kirbali about three kilometres away and the family salotsavi in Mejvriskhevi a little further.
The area lies close to the line, and the state of the access roads and the order of travel are best found out in advance. In the church itself the usual rules apply: covered shoulders and knees, quiet, and a headscarf for women.
