The church of St. Nicholas in Tsnisi is the parish church of a village on the road from Akhaltsikhe towards Borjomi, beyond Klde. Dedications to St. Nicholas in Georgia favour villages by roads: the saint has long been held the patron of travellers, and the Tsnisi church stands in its place quite literally.
The church lives an ordinary parish life in the residential part of the village, without tours or timetables, and a call here logically continues the roadside chain: Klde with its cliffs, Tsnisi with its St. Nicholas church, and onward the valley leads to Borjomi and its famous park.
One enters freely, with the usual courtesy of a working church: modest dress, a quiet voice, respect for a service. St. Nicholas Day in December is the chief feast of this parish.
