This small shrine bears the name of St John the Baptist, Natlismtsemeli in Georgian. A salotsavi, that is a shrine, is usually raised where a parish gathers outside a large church.
The place lies in the mountains northeast of Borjomi, above the resort townships of the valley. Coniferous forest and slopes running towards the Trialeti range surround it.
There is little room inside and no scheduled services. The warm season is the easier time to come: in winter the road up is under snow.
