A church of the Mother of God once stood here; today the place is a church site: wall foundations and scattered stones. No services are held, and the place remains a memorial one.
Mzetamze lies in the mountains northeast of Borjomi, above the resort valley. The village name translates roughly as sun over suns, the name of the fairest maiden in Georgian folk tales.
The path to the place is grassy, so wear closed shoes. Do not touch the stones: the masonry holds poorly.
