The church of Greli village is a St. George basilica, an elongated church without a dome. It stands four kilometres from Akhaltsikhe, on the road leading to the Sapara monastery.
Sapara is one of the best known monasteries of Samtskhe, and Greli lies right on the way there, so the basilica is easy to see along the route. A few kilometres away are other village churches as well: the church of St. Andrew in Andriatsminda and the Akhdila church by Muskhi.
