This is the first of the three shrines of Nakra, a Svan village in a side valley that opens towards the Enguri. No dedication has stuck to the church, and locally it is known simply as the Nakra church.
Nakra lies twenty eight kilometres from Mestia, away from the main road. The two other shrines of the village stand very close: one four hundred metres away, the other a kilometre, and the Jgrag Namurkvamash church a little further.
The church can be approached at any time; follow the coordinates. The road into the valley is unpaved in places, so a higher car is better.
