Chokhuldi is a locality by the village of Mazeri in the Becho valley, and the church here is dedicated to the Saviour. The shrine also carries a second local name - Lakhili Vris; such double names are common in Svaneti, where one comes from the sanctuary and the other from the place.
Mazeri is the main village of the Becho community, and there are several churches around: the church of the Archangels stands in the village itself, the Ghormli church of St. George is close by, and the Skelshi church of St. George stands in neighbouring Tvebishi. Chokhuldi thus belongs to a whole constellation of Becho shrines.
Small Svan churches rarely hold regular services, yet the shrine can be approached at any time. The road into the Becho valley branches off the Mestia highway; further on, follow the coordinates.
