The church is known both simply as a church and as a church of St. George: the short name lasts in everyday speech, the full one surfaces where it must be told from its neighbours. Such a double life of names is usual in Racha.
Kvashkhieti lies six kilometres from Oni, at the eastern edge of the Racha valley. The Trinity church of Parakheti stands about four kilometres away, the Archangel church of Shardometi four and a half, the church of St. George at Zhashkva six. Further east the valley narrows and runs up towards the headwaters.
The road along the Rioni is passable almost all year, with snow possible in winter. The church is a village one, services are not held every day, yet it can be seen from outside. Dress modestly, keep quiet inside, leave offerings untouched. Oni is close, and the visit fits easily into a trip to the town.
