The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. Trinity churches are many in Racha, and in mountain villages they were usually set on a rise with a view over the Rioni valley: the site was chosen so that the church could be seen from afar.
Kvedi lies in the upper Rioni, nine kilometres east of Oni. The chapel of the Virgin of the same village stands about seven hundred metres away, and further down the valley begins a chain of Racha shrines: the church of Sorgiti, the ruins of the church of Pipileti, a second Trinity church of the district. The last stands three and a half kilometres to the west and carries the very same name.
Racha is mountainous, the roads narrow and soft between seasons, so dry days are the better choice. The church is a village one, services are not held every day, yet it can be seen from outside. Dress modestly and keep quiet inside.
