The church stands in the western part of Tetritskaro Municipality, about a kilometre and a half from the ruins of a neighbouring church. The building is small, without a fence or annexes.
Two church sites at such a distance usually mean that a village once stood here and the churches are what remained of it. The area lies at the transition from Kvemo Kartli to the Trialeti range, with forest coming right up. The nearest inhabited villages are marked several kilometres away.
Photography inside is best agreed with whoever looks after the church. The site remains part of the everyday life of the area, and that deserves respect.
Tips
- Leave spare time for the climb.
- In summer bring a hat, as there is almost no shade.
- It is better to leave a dog outside.
Getting there
- Leave the car at the nearest street and continue on foot.
- Navigate by the coordinates, as there may be no signs on the approach.
