The church of Saint Mary stands in Gokhnari village in Tetritskaro Municipality. It is a small hall church whose walls are laid of stones of varying size. Sources place the building in the span from the 8th to the 10th century.
The roof has collapsed entirely, but a small fragment of the triumphal arch survives inside, the very one that separated the sanctuary from the hall. It shows how the space was arranged.
Gokhnari holds a second listed site as well, the ruins of the church of Saint George with its burial ground in the Adzikvi locality, laid of Algeti basalt. The two churches lie in one village, so both can be seen in a single visit.
