The ruins of the church of Saint George with its burial ground lie near Gokhnari village in Tetritskaro Municipality, in the Adzikvi locality. Sources assign the building to the 11th and 12th centuries. The hall had north and south aisles and was laid of large, well worked Algeti basalt, the dark local stone.
The entrance is on the south. Outside the door is dressed with a large architrave carrying a tympanum cut in relief, inside the opening is arched and a tympanum is set there too. One window each on the west and east and two on the south gave the light, all arched and tapering from inside outwards. The surviving drawing of the west window shows that the openings were framed by colonnettes with small arches.
On the east the space is closed by a semicircular apse separated by side walls, above which ran an arch carrying the conch. Pilasters stand on the long walls and carried the arch of the vault, similar corner supports and arches sit by the west wall, and the imposts are profiled. The apse is raised in two steps, and the solea has two steps with a semicircular projection in the middle.
