A church of Saint George known by the name Zurtaketi. The dedication here is the most frequent in Georgia, while the name of the place is a rare one: beyond this church it hardly occurs.
It stands on the upland north west of Dmanisi, away from the dense village clusters. The nearest neighbours in the area are the Ascension church of Sarkineti about five kilometres away and the two shrines of Ganakhleba a little further.
A visit here is planned together with the Sarkineti and Ganakhleba groups: on its own the place lies too far from the rest. The usual rules apply: covered shoulders and knees, quiet, and a headscarf for women.
