A small church by the road in Samtsevrisi. Its name describes not a dedication but the place and the size: a little church by the roadside, of which many stand along Georgian roads.
The village should not be mistaken here. There is a Samtsevrisi in Shida Kartli, where a well known old church stands, and this one south of Bolnisi: about a hundred kilometres lie between them. Our Samtsevrisi is generous with shrines, holding eight, and this is the first of them.
When coming, check the coordinates rather than the name: confusing the two Samtsevrisis is all too easy. The rules are those of any working church: covered shoulders and knees, quiet.
