The church of St Constantine stands in Samadlo. The village used to be called Sapar Kharaba, the spelling Sapar Khaleba is also met, and both forms are still current among local people.
Samadlo keeps three shrines, and they stand close together: eighty metres from here to the Ascension church, a little over two hundred to the site of the vanished St Sophia church. The village lies on the plateau north-east of Tsalka, a short way from Bareti with its many chapels.
There are no regular services here and the church is freely approached. The three churches can be walked in ten minutes, and walking beats driving between them.
