The ruins of the church of the Virgin Mary lie at the forest edge near Sadakhlo village in Marneuli Municipality. The church is small, about six metres by four, laid of undressed basalt boulders on lime mortar, with the gaps between them and the core of the wall packed with rubble.
The lower course is set in stone of a light wine violet tone, and this band picks out the base of the building. The plan is rectangular and closed on the east by a deep semicircular apse separated from the hall by a small projection. On the south, at ground level, the outline of the wall and a door in the western part can be read.
The window opening at the centre of the apse widens from outside inwards and is now rectangular on both faces. Two niches of irregular shape are made above the window and a small rectangular one below. The only surviving decoration outside is the sill stone of the east facade: traces of colonnettes and ornament can be read on it.
