The Haji Veli mosque stands in the western part of Sadakhlo, about a kilometre and a half from the Muhammad Mustafa mosque. The prefix haji marks a person who has made the pilgrimage to Mecca, and mosques are often named after such a person.
Sadakhlo has several mosques, which the size of the village explains: it is the largest settlement of Marneuli Municipality. The village lies in the historical territory of Borchaly, by the junction of borders with Armenia. One of the main border crossings towards Armenia runs through Sadakhlo.
Agree any photography inside with the community, as shooting without permission is not accepted. The site remains part of the everyday life of the area, and that deserves respect.
