The lower of the two neighbouring churches of Mamkhuti and the third, last shrine of the village in this group. Eighty three metres separate it from the upper one, and only the words upper and lower in their names tell them apart.
Mamkhuti lies in the south west of the region, away from the main roads. Another church of the village, the church ruins, stands about three kilometres away, and the nearest neighbours from other villages further still, beyond seven kilometres.
The pair is seen together, a couple of minutes apart on foot, and the whole village with its ruins takes about half an hour with a car. The usual rules apply: covered shoulders and knees, quiet, and a headscarf is useful for women.
