The mosque in Kosalari bears the name of Ali ibn Abu Talib, cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet. The building is a rural one, of the kind of jame found in almost every sizeable village of Kvemo Kartli with a Muslim community.
The village lies east of Tetri Tskaro. Four Christian shrines stand in the same district, among them the church of St Nicholas in the Sopliani locality, and such neighbourhood of traditions is an ordinary thing for Kvemo Kartli.
The usual mosque etiquette applies: shoes are taken off at the entrance, clothing is modest, women cover their heads, and the hall is not entered during prayer. Prayer times are best asked about on the spot.
