A church of the Mother of God known by the name Imerkhevi. The name is well known in Georgia: it belongs to a historical district in the upper reaches of the Chorokhi river, and the local place name was most likely brought by settlers from there.
The church stands in the Lokjandari area, in the south of the region. Another local shrine, the church at Papakhchi Tala, lies about three and a half kilometres away, and the ruins of a church of the Mother of God a little further.
The three churches of Lokjandari are conveniently seen on one trip, yet their names do not tell them apart: keep to the coordinates. The rules are those of any working church: covered shoulders and knees, quiet.
