The church ruins in the Akopasopeli nasoplari lie in the forest on the southern slope of the mountain, by a left tributary of the Poladauri and its own tributary the Khertvisi. On the map of Vakhushti a village called Akopasopeli stood here in the late Middle Ages, and southeast of the church, on the lower terraces of the ridge, the remains of buildings of hewn stone still survive.

The hall of about eight metres by five is laid of local rubble on mortar. The masonry was set with intent: large stones hold the horizontal line, smaller ones are laid between them, and the courses alternate. A single course cornice of hewn stone finishes the walls, and what the church was roofed with is unclear.

The entrance is on the south, with an architrave outside and an arch within. Rectangular windows on the east, south and west gave the light. A semicircular apse is separated from the hall by a side wall, and the conch closed it from above. Sources assign the building to the 13th and 14th centuries.
