The chapel of the Virgin Mary stands in the northeastern part of Avranlo, in the yard of a local resident. That is a usual story here: a chapel is built right on the household plot and stays open to the neighbours.
The building is small and hall like, with a semicircular apse on the east. One window is cut in each of the west, south and east walls, the walls are plastered and whitewashed, the entrance is on the south, and the roof is covered with flat tile.
A new altar stone with a carved cross stands in the sanctuary. Sources assign the building to the late twentieth century. Avranlo holds about a dozen such chapels, and they can all be covered on one walk through the village.
