The church dedicated to Saint George is part of the Gostashabishvili estate complex. Such private churches were built beside family estates and served the owners' household rather than the whole village.
The complex belongs to the area of the village of Tbisi in Tetritskaro Municipality. The church of Saint Marine of the same village stands about two kilometres away. The Tetritskaro area is hilly and wooded, opening towards the Trialeti range in the west.
Enter quietly if the door is open, and do not disturb those at prayer. The site remains part of the everyday life of the area, and that deserves respect.
