The church of St Marine stands in Tbisi. First a word about the name of the village: Tbisi and Tbilisi sound alike, yet they are different places at opposite ends of Kvemo Kartli and are easily confused.
The spot lies by the road between Partskhisi and Manglisi, in the hilly part of the municipality. The dedication here is to Marine, that is Marina of Antioch, called Marina in other languages; the variant naming Mary is wrong for this place.
There are no regular services and people come freely. A tip for the road: searching by the village name is useless, navigators lead to the capital, so go by the coordinates instead.
💡 Tip
- A church dedicated to St Marine
- Tbisi village has nothing to do with Tbilisi
