The Abulmugi complex near the village of Vardisubani. This is a monument in the open air rather than a working church: it has neither a parish nor a dedication of its own, and people come for the buildings themselves.
The area here is a dense one. The church of the Mother of God in Balichi stands two and a half kilometres away, the Didi Kviratskhoveli naeklesiari a little further, and the Vardisubani monastery at three and a half. All of it fits into one trip.
The monument stands open, and it needs care underfoot and nothing touched: old masonry holds worse than it looks. Care matters here more than any other rule.
