The church stands about a kilometre from Vardisubani, beyond the built-up area. It is a single building without a yard or fence, and it is not immediately visible from the road.
Vardisubani belongs to Telavi Municipality and is known for pottery: qvevri, the large clay vessels for wine, are made here. The name of the village translates as the rose quarter. Telavi is a few kilometres away, with vineyards and the foothills of the Gombori range around.
Photography inside is best agreed with whoever looks after the church. The site remains part of the everyday life of the area, and that deserves respect.

Getting there
- Leave the car at the nearest street and continue on foot.
