The church is dedicated to Saint Eustathius. In the Georgian tradition his name is Evstati, and this dedication is uncommon in Kakheti, which makes the church stand out among the village churches of the area.
The exact settlement is hard to name: the site lies about seven kilometres west of Telavi, closer to Ikalto, but no village of its own is attached to it, so navigate by the coordinates. Ikalto is known for its ancient academy and monastery, one of the oldest centres of learning in Kakheti; from here the road runs further west towards Akhmeta and the Pankisi valley.
The grounds are open during the day and evening, and the church can be approached freely. The final stretch is unpaved. Dress with shoulders and knees covered, a headscarf for women.
