Sabereebi is a disused cave complex: monastic life ceased here long ago, no services are held, and the place exists as a monument. This must be said at once so that a trip is not planned around worship or the reception of pilgrims, neither of which happens here.
The name reads as the place of monks. The complex belongs to the Gareja range, the same semi-desert ridge on the Azerbaijani border where the famous Davit Gareja stands, but these are different sites. A kilometre away lies a another group of caves in the same cluster. Open steppe surrounds it: no trees, no water and no settlements for many kilometres.
The road is unpaved and becomes impassable in rain, and this is a border area, so watch the signs carefully. Drive in dry weather, not alone, and carry water. Treat the caves with care.
