The church is known by a single word, without a dedication. The village carries the name of St. George, yet it has not stayed with this church: only the word church and the name of the hamlet remain.
Giorgitsminda lies two kilometres from Sagarejo, on the Kakheti plain. The basilica of the Virgin of the same village stands about seven hundred metres away, the ruins of the church of St. Marine two kilometres, the church of Sts Peter and Paul two and a half, the church of St. George of Sagarejo two and a half.
The two shrines of the village stand close and look alike, so follow the coordinates. The building is viewed from outside, and getting in is not always possible. Dress modestly, keep quiet inside, move nothing. The road from Sagarejo is short and passable all year.
