Lake Gogni lies near the village of the same name in Terjola Municipality, western Imereti, at an elevation of 930 metres. Thanks to its relatively accessible elevation and a decent road to the village, Gogni is often included in the itineraries of travellers exploring the lakes of northern Imereti, with many combining several water bodies into a two- or three-day trek. One of the nearest large lakes in the Kharagauli direction, Legvani, fits neatly into the same route.
