The church of St Marina stands between Gvishtibi and Tskaltubo, and it is well known in the district. Marina, also called Marine, is venerated as a helper in childbirth and in trouble, and dedications to her are not rare in Imereti.
It is a kilometre and a half from here to the centre of Tskaltubo and about two to the second Gvishtibi shrine, the church of St George. The place stands on the line between town and village, and both sides count it as their own.
There are no regular services, and visits are arranged on the spot. The parish is alive, and on the patronal day people from both sides gather here.
