The church of Ambrosi Khelaia stands on the near outskirts of Tskaltubo, a well-known resort town of Imereti. The church is consecrated in the name of St. Ambrosi Khelaia, the confessor catholicos venerated by the Georgian church.
Tskaltubo is famous for its thermal springs and a large resort park. Other churches are active in the town and its surroundings, among them the St. George parish church on the western side.
Visiting is free, and modest clothing is appropriate for a service. If the church is closed, locals will tell you when services are held.
