A parish church of the Thirteen Assyrian Fathers. They are a group of ascetics who, by church tradition, came to Georgia in the sixth century and founded monasteries across the country. Their names stand behind dozens of Georgian houses, from David of Gareji to Shio of Mgvime, while a church dedicated to all thirteen at once is noticeably rarer than one dedicated to a single member.
The church is also known by Chorvila yet stands in neighbouring Modzvi, in eastern Imereti on the road towards Sachkhere. The age of the building is not established and no builders are recorded.
The parish works at weekends: on weekdays the doors are usually locked, so a Saturday or Sunday is the time to plan for. Dress modestly, women wear a headscarf.
