A parish church of Saint George. The village name reads at once: klde is Georgian for rock and kveda marks the lower part, so this is Lower Kldeeti.
The village lies where the Imeretian plain runs into an outcrop of rock, and the terrain sets its whole layout: yards press against the foot of the cliff and the road goes around the stone. To the north begins the Zestafoni district with its vineyards, to the south the plain runs down to the Kvirila. The age of the church is not established.
Services here are held at weekends and on other days the doors are usually locked, so a Saturday or Sunday is the time to plan for. Dress modestly, women wear a headscarf.
