A village church known by the name of its village. The dedication has not survived, so the church is simply called the Kitskhi one, and we will not invent a saint for it.
The names Kitskhi and Katskhi differ by a single vowel, and confusion between them arises constantly. Katskhi, where the famous pillar stands with a church on top of a limestone rock, is in the Chiatura district some thirty kilometres to the north. This is a different village, Kitskhi, in the surroundings of Kharagauli, in south-eastern Imereti. The century of building is not established.
The parish is rural and services are infrequent. Dress modestly, women wear a headscarf. If you were looking for the pillar, check the name before setting out: one vowel is easy to miss.
