Kviratskhoveli is one of the most Georgian of church words: it means the Resurrection of Christ and comes from kvira, Sunday. Churches of this name are numerous in the country, and the name almost always indicates a dedication to the Resurrection itself rather than to any saint.
The second qualifier is practical: the church stands in a cemetery, and such buildings have a purpose of their own, tied to commemoration. This is already the second cemetery church in this part of the list after the wooden Saint George church near Speti. The church is known by Igoreti yet stands in the village of Lashe, in south-eastern Imereti. The century of building is not established.
This is a burial ground and calls for particular restraint: keep quiet, move nothing, and do not touch graves or offerings. Dress modestly, women wear a headscarf.
