The naeklesiari at Zemo Makvaneti in Ozurgeti Municipality marks the site of a vanished church. It lies within the village cemetery, south of the domed church of Saint Mary.
Only a two stepped plinth is visible of the building today, with hewn stones scattered around it. The carved blocks that lay along its edges went into the masonry of the new church fence, so part of the old church still serves on the same spot.
The ground is completely overgrown and the plan of the building cannot be established without archaeological work. Sources assign the site to the 19th century. The Gurian greenery is dense here, so closed shoes are the better choice.
