The Zeda Sameba church is a church in the hilly country above Kobuleti, where the villages of Kveda Sameba and Zeda Sameba sit side by side. The word sameba means the Trinity in Georgian, and it named both the church and the whole area: a rare case of a church dedication written literally into the geography.
The climb is worth it not only for the church itself: from the Sameba hills open some of the best views over the Kobuleti coast, and at sunset the place turns into a natural viewpoint. The hairpins from the town are short, and the reward is double: a spiritual place and a panorama.
One enters freely, with the courtesy usual for a working church: modest dress, a quiet voice, respect for a service if one is under way. At sunset the hill gets busy: for quiet come in the daytime.
