The Amiran Kuprava gallery, known as the Red Balcony, is an artist painting space in Poti. It shows the works of the artist himself and what belongs to his circle: canvases, sketches, studio material. The format differs from a museum, the display changes and a talk with the owner takes no less time than the viewing.
The gallery is on Samegrelo street, in a residential part of Poti, close to the centre. The city is a port with a regular plan and low buildings, all within walking distance. The name comes from the striking balcony by which people find the place.
The space is a private artist one, so it is worth arranging the visit in advance. Allow about an hour for the viewing and the talk. The first half of the day is the easier time to come.
Tips
- Arrange the visit in advance, this is an artist space
- Look for the balcony, that is how the place is recognised
- Combine the visit with a walk through central Poti
How to get there
- About fifteen minutes on foot from the centre of Poti
- Roughly an hour and a quarter from Kutaisi via Samtredia and Poti
