The Winner Of The Cartoon Contest: The Voting Of The Ministry Of Culture Of Georgia Is Over
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia summed up the results of the well-deserved Cartoon Contest, whose task was to enrich and develop the genre of caricature in Georgian art.
The key direction of the project is the formation of the concept of the future Museum of Cartoons or the creation of a permanent exhibition, including a digital interactive model. This difficult path will be realized by the ART&SOCIETY company, which has earned the trust of the ministry.
35 thousand lari (more than 13 thousand dollars) were allocated for the organization of the competition this year. Among the two submitted applications, the jury selected the most promising project.
We emphasize that the initiative to support cartoons was first presented by the Ministry of Culture in 2021, when 10 thousand lari (3.8 thousand dollars) were allocated for financing. Then one project was successfully implemented, which ended with an exhibition in Tbilisi.
The following year, the budget of the competition was increased and amounted to 50 thousand lari (19.2 thousand dollars). Three exhibitions were held at different exhibition venues in Tbilisi, and this confirms the active interest of society in the genre.
The involvement of the public in art exhibitions and the high interest in the development of caricature prompted the Ministry to create a permanent exhibition site. ART&SOCIETY, which has earned trust in the competition, will develop the concept of this platform, where everyone will be able to appreciate and immerse themselves in the world of caricature.
