Minankari — forgotten and restored jewelry art
Jewelry made in the technique of cloisonne enamel minankari is literally unique.
Two identical products cannot be made even by one master. The minankari technique cannot be mechanized.
Minankari jewelry is a work of art made of gold, silver and enamel, made by hand.
The technique of cloisonne enamel in Georgia developed until the 15th century, and then it was lost and forgotten. Georgian art historians, with the help of enamel masters, revived it at the beginning of this century, using preserved documents and artifacts.
Now every tourist can bring from Georgia a small but very elegant piece of the soul of the Georgian master minankari.
