In 2003, as a student at the Conservatory, Khatia received a special prize at the Vladimir Horowitz International Competition for Young Pianists in Kiev, as well as the first prize at the competition for the support of young Georgian musicians, which was created by famous Russian and Austrian pianists Elizaveta Leonskaya. Buniatishvili is also a laureate of the famous Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award, received in 2010. And in March 2019, her album titled Schubert topped the French classical music chart, deservedly winning the recognition of listeners.
