In 2026, Georgia will host a regular event called the UN World Public Services Forum
This grandiose event attracts about a thousand representatives from around the world every year, including leading political figures and heads of state.
According to a message posted on the social network page of the Ministry of Justice, this Georgian agency will be the organizer of the event. Such an important decision was made during a meeting between UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Deputy Minister of Justice Rati Bregadze in the United States in December 2023.
The further development of this event was preceded by the sending of an official letter from the UN to the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, which confirmed the holding of the forum in 2026. UN Deputy Secretary General Li Junhua expressed gratitude to the Georgian Ministry for its participation in strengthening public administration.
"We are grateful to you for your support in strengthening public administration as an effective mechanism for stimulating sustainable development, and we look forward to working with the Government of Georgia to prepare the forum by 2026," the letter says.
During his official visit to the United States in December 2023, Justice Minister Rati Bregadze met with the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, where he confirmed that fast and effective public services focused on the needs of citizens are a priority for the Government and the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.
Bregadze also noted that the agency is constantly working to improve access to these services, including through the use of digital technologies and innovations.
Within the framework of the UN World Public Services Forum, participants will discuss such topical issues as challenges in the field of public services, innovation practices and strategic development opportunities. This event is a valuable forum where you can gain unique international cooperation and share your experience with progressive countries of the world.
