9 kilometers on the way to Russia

The construction of a tunnel linking Georgia and Russia continues.

Thanks to the Department of Georgian Highways, it became known that from the planned nine-kilometer tunnel, builders have already drilled a section of 770 meters long. In addition, during the construction, workers laid 2.6 thousand meters of an evacuation tunnel, work on which is being carried out in parallel.

To date, the length of the road from Kobi to Gudauri stretches for 34 kilometers, which hinders the movement of transport and wastes the forces of foreign and Georgian carriers. The safe tunnel will reduce the length of the Georgian Military Road by 11 kilometers, thus it will be possible to get there an hour faster. At the same time, the Gudauri resort will be freed from transportation by transit.

    Могу только сказать спасибо, людям которые таи трудятся не покладая рук. Это ведь большой, опасный и покладистый труд. А сколько еще им понадобится вложить своих сил и здоровья, даже представлять и думать не хочется.Очень разгрузит движение данного маршрута, и вообще сократит время пути. И сколько еще эвакуационных путей нужно проложить.

      День добрый, Игорь! Круто, я считаю, что дороги между Грузией и Россией строятся. Из статьи узнала, что уже дороги существуют длиной в 34 километра. Также стоит заметить, Игорь, что был запланирован девятикилометровый тоннель - он построен уже длиной в 770 м, но на данный момент строится еще 2,6 тыс метров))
