A tour for medicines to Turkey — reality or fiction?
According to the latest data from the National Statistical Service, the cost of some medicines has increased by 32.15%. The cost of goods increased to a greater extent, the demand for which increased during the pandemic: vitamins, thermometers, painkillers and tonometers.
The Georgian Prime Minister agreed that the prices are too high and categorically unacceptable. The situation on the pharmacological market should be seriously studied, after which the principles of drug pricing should be revised, Garibashvili said.
It was also announced at the Government meeting that the current level of prices for medicines is overstated by 300-400 percent, which was recognized as an unacceptable incident.
The local population, who have access to foreign resources, purchase the necessary medicines in Turkish pharmacies, which turns out to be much cheaper than buying in domestic institutions.
