How Georgia's aviation market is recovering from the pandemic
Georgia has opened its air borders since February 1, 2021 after a long break in operations due to the spread of coronavirus infection.
According to the Civil Aviation Agency, this year's figures have been restored by 88 percent compared to the pre-quarantine period. The country now has up to 405 weekly flights to 77 destinations.
A total of 39 carriers are involved in the air transportation of Georgian passengers, which exceeds the results of 2019.
The capital's airport has restored the number of flight destinations, countries and airlines whose planes it receives and releases to almost one hundred percent of the level of the year before last. Adjara's central airfield also has positive growth dynamics of over 100% in all points. Here the coefficient even overtook the indicators of two years ago.
Kutaisi air gateway is increasing its plan with mixed success: the number of air communication courses managed to reach 72%, but the list of partner airlines has grown one and a half times.
