Berries grown in Georgia are in demand on the international market.
In the first place, among buyers, the Russian market stands out. Almost four hundred tons of blueberries were exported to the country. Smaller shipments went to neighboring Armenia, the UAE, South Asia and the Middle East with a total of 12.7 tons.
At the moment, the volume of exports, worth six and a half dollars per kilogram, has increased by four percent compared to last year, and its price tag has increased by $ 307 thousand. At the same time, the export price of environmentally friendly goods increased by ten percent.
This success of the industry is due to the support of the Georgian government to local farmers with special industry programs.
