How to find a plumber, gas technician and heating specialist in Georgia

In brief: which specialist to look for

For a leaking tap or replacing plumbing fixtures, look for a plumber. For a heating problem, ask about experience with your particular system, and name any gas equipment separately right away. For a blocked drain or waterproofing, choose the matching specialty. Before the visit, send a description of the problem and agree on the diagnostics and how costs will be approved.

Start with the section for your city below. The name of the trade helps narrow the search, but the specific job, arrival time and price must be agreed with the provider.

Information checked on 31.10.2026. The directory has nine sections across four geographic divisions; check each specialist's specialization and terms before ordering.

Where to look for a specialist in your city

If your combination of city and trade is not listed here, do not automatically carry over an address from another city. First ask whether the chosen specialist serves your district and how much travel costs. The absence of a link in this directory does not mean the service is unavailable in the city.

Important. The smell of gas is not a reason to wait for a scheduled visit. Leave the danger zone; do not switch electrical appliances on or off. Contact your gas distributor's emergency service from a safe place. If there is a danger to life, call 112. These actions are given in the official SOCAR Georgia Gas guidance, checked on 31.10.2026; the guidance does not replace the instructions of the emergency service.

Plumber, gas technician or heating specialist

Describe what you observe, without making your own diagnosis. "Water appears under the sink while draining" is more useful than "the trap definitely needs replacing." That lets the specialist judge whether the task falls within their field and what to bring for the inspection.

One provider may work in several areas, but you need to check the specific work you need. Do not ask "do you do everything?"; ask "have you worked with this model and this component, and what does your inspection include?" For a system as a whole, ask who coordinates the actions of the plumber and the equipment specialist.

Agree on technical actions and the requirements for your equipment with the servicing gas organization.

How to get from a section to a conversation with a provider

  1. Open your city's row in the directory. Check the heading: the city and trade must match your task.
  2. In the section, use the available fields "Name or address" and "District". If a communication language filter is shown, choose a convenient language. There is no need to look for a field that is not there.
  3. Open the candidate's listing. Read the description of the work and look at the contact details and reviews, if there are any. A separate promise in a listing does not yet confirm the terms of your order.
  4. Send the same request to suitable candidates and compare the replies by scope of work. Ask who exactly will come and in which language you will be able to discuss the result.

If a listing contains only a name and contact details, do not fill in the gaps with guesses. In conversation, ask about the required specialization, the service area and how the price is calculated. If you could not reach them, go back to the section and choose another contact.

What to send before the visit

State the city and district, the type of premises, the problem you observe and a convenient time for inspection. For an appliance, add the make and model from an accessible nameplate; for a leak, photograph the general view and the visible wet area. Do not remove the casing and do not try to reach gas connections for the sake of a photograph.

Mention access restrictions: a locked yard, the need to arrange things with the owner of the premises, no access to a shared utility point. Give the exact address and entry instructions to the chosen provider personally. In photos shared more widely, cover up documents, account numbers and other personal details.

Tip. Keep your request and the specialist's reply in one conversation. After talking, write a short confirmation: the task, the agreed visit, the diagnostics, and the condition that additional work begins only after your consent.

How to check experience and agree on the work

Ask for an example of a similar task: which system the specialist worked with, what exactly they did and how they checked the result. A photo of a finished bathroom says little about experience in diagnosing a boiler. If a provider offers to show another client's site or give a client's contact, this must happen with that person's consent.

For gas work, ask in advance who is responsible for the specific intervention, on what basis they carry it out and how it is coordinated with the servicing gas organization. Do not take business registration or general years of experience as proof of the right to do any kind of work. The documents and procedure must relate to your task and your equipment.

Separate the inspection from the repair. Before the visit, agree on payment for the call-out and diagnostics, including if you decline further work. After the inspection, ask for an explanation of the cause, the proposed result and the options. If the specialist cannot state the scope of work before opening things up, agree on a limit for the diagnostic stage only.

In rented housing, agree on access and any planned changes with the owner before buying parts. Who pays for the order should not be deduced from a general rule: record the agreement for your own situation.

What the estimate consists of

Ask for a line-by-line calculation, not just a total. This helps you notice that one specialist included parts and a repeat visit while another quoted only the labor. For comparison, keep the same result and the same starting conditions.

WorkUnit and scopeMaterialsAdditional conditions
Call-out and diagnosticsOne agreed inspection; which checks are includedConsumables for diagnostics, if neededDistrict, travel, payment if you decline the repair
Fixing the identified faultA specific component and a list of operationsMake, part number and quantity of parts according to the agreed listWhat changes the scope after inspection; who confirms the costs
Access to the component and protection of the premisesLimits of opening up and of the subsequent restorationProtective and restoration materials according to the listWho carries out related work and cleanup
Completion and follow-up contactChecking the result; whether a separate visit is neededWhich documents and replaced parts are handed to the clientTerms of a repeat visit and payment

If another problem is found during the inspection, ask for a new estimate before additional work begins. It should state the reason for the change, the new amount or the way it will be determined, and the result being offered to you. A verbal "we'll sort it out later" is not enough for a clear order.

Common mistake. Comparing the price of replacing a part with the price of fully fixing a leak. An identical total also does not mean an identical order: check the diagnostics, materials, access and repeat visit.

Example: a heating request without a remote diagnosis

Example. "I need a heating inspection in Batumi, Old Town district. While the system is running, the farthest radiator stays cold. I will send a photo of the radiator and the accessible equipment nameplate in a private message. The gas part has not been touched. Please say whether you take on such a system, what you check on the first visit, and how much the call-out and diagnostics cost. I ask that parts and any additional work be agreed separately before purchase and repair."

This is an illustrative example, not a description of a completed order. What you need in reply is not a diagnosis promised from a photo but a clear inspection plan. If the specialist proposes replacing a radiator, ask them to link the proposal to the result of the check and to state which work and materials will be included in the estimate.

How to accept the work

Before starting, agree on what exactly the specialist will show at the end. For ordinary plumbing work, this may be a joint check of using the fixture and an inspection of the accessible connections. Checks of gas equipment and other special tests must be carried out by the appropriate specialist; the client does not need to repeat them independently.

Compare the completed items with the agreed estimate. Ask them to name the replaced parts, explain normal use and the signs that mean you should seek help again. If the work has several stages, record which one is complete now and what remains.

Ask for a payment document and written terms for follow-up contact: whom to contact, on what matter and how a visit is arranged. Do not replace this agreement with an assumption that all specialists offer the same warranty. If the result of the check raises doubt, write down what you observed and discuss the next step before closing the order.

Check before confirming the order

  • The specialist's profile matches your specific system and task.
  • City, district, inspection time and access are agreed.
  • The call-out and diagnostics are clear, including if you decline the repair.
  • The scope of work and the expected result are written down.
  • Parts, consumables and additional work are agreed before costs are incurred.
  • It is clear who checks the result and how a follow-up visit is paid for.

Questions and answers

Whom should I call for a boiler problem: a plumber or a gas technician?

Start with a description of the system and model, rather than choosing by the single word "boiler". A heating specialist can assess whether the task falls within their field. If it concerns the gas part, immediately ask for the appropriate specialist and the procedure for coordinating with the gas organization. If you smell gas, act as in an emergency, not as with a scheduled order.

Is diagnostics included in the call-out price?

This is a condition of the specific order. Ask separately what is charged for travel and what for the check, whether diagnostics is credited towards a subsequent repair, and how much you must pay if you do not order it. It is best to get the answer before the visit.

How do I agree on buying parts?

Ask for the name, part number, quantity and an explanation of compatibility. Write down who buys the parts and what happens if the proposed item does not fit. Agree on any substitution with another make and any additional costs before buying.

What if the section I need is not listed for my city?

Look for a specialist based on a description of your task and clarify the service area in person. Do not treat a neighboring city's section as confirmation that your address is served. If there is no suitable contact, you can turn to the servicing organization or the service center for the equipment in question.

Can I choose a specialist by reviews alone?

Reviews help you form questions but do not replace checking the profile. See what work and date the client writes about, then ask about experience with your system and the terms of the order. A rating without these details does not show whether a person is suitable for the specific job.

Should I take the appliance apart before the visit?

Do not take a gas appliance apart and do not remove protective elements for the sake of a photograph. For a first request, the available model information, a general view and a description of what you observe are enough. Ask the servicing organization or the specialist which actions are permissible before the visit.

For a short reminder about searching, save the answer "How to find a plumber in Tbilisi and Batumi". For a specific order, use the agreed estimate and the terms of your provider.
